About Tricentric Valves

Available Types and options

  • Tricentric Metal-Seated Butterfly Valves are available in sizes 3 thru 96 inch, 150 thru 600 ANSI in Plain Wafer, Lugged and Double Flanged (Gate Valve and ISO 5752 face-face) configurations which can provide significant COST SAVINGS.

  • As a “rule of thumb”, they will be less expensive than a manual gate valve in sizes larger than 8 inch in stainless steel, 12 inch in carbon steel and automated from 3 inch.

  • In all sizes, where available, they will be substantially less than a metal-seated ball valve - of course, CV has to be evaluated etc. - certainly one cannot pig lines, on which Butterfly Valves are installed. The Metal-Seated Butterfly Valve is much lighter in weight, easier to install and maintain than most competitive valve styles.

  • Used extensively as an economical replacement for Gate Valves and Metal-Seated Ball Valves, Tricentric Metal-Seated Butterfly Valves are also a viable competitor to many Soft Seated Tricentric High Performance Butterfly Valve installations providing long term seating integrity typically ANSI/FCI Class VI or better.

  • They can cope with a broad spectrum of severe services - everything from Black Liquor, Liquid Sulphur, Coke, Ethylene, Oxygen, Hydrogen and Natural Gas to name a few - in Service Temperatures ranging from minus 350oF through to High Temperatures of 1600oF.

  • Available in Exotic Materials, with Steam Jacketing & Steam Tracing of Disc and Shaft, Stellite seat and seal overlays, they prove to be very versatile. Gear operated Tricentric Metal-Seated Butterfly Valves function with great ease as there is no breakaway torque in the sealing system.

  • The all-metal construction is your assurance that a Tricentric metal seated butterfly valve is inherently Fire safe, with some manufacturers having tested to the latest edition of API. They can be used for on-off and many throttling applications
