Automated Discharge Valve System

The HIS Automated Discharge Valve System works in conjunction with the coal grinder to discharge unwanted material while at the same time keeping valuable coal dust from escaping the system. In addition, the system works to isolate the worker from possible explosion caused by ignition of the very fine coal dust. The HIS System provides the safety, efficiency, and reliability necessary in any grinding application.

The system's inner valve opens to allow reject material from the coal grinder which includes hard rock, water and coal slurry. The HIS Automated Discharge System's outer valve is opened after the inner valve is closed to remove reject material from the grinder discharge chute while preventing coal dust from escaping through the closed inner valve. In the case of grinder overload or malfunction, both valves are opened to remove excess water, coal and pyrites/stones. The Inner Gate has long service history and where the outer door has traditionally been a large, heavy door with a manual handwheel to open it in confined quarters (a serious safety issue) the Henderson system has addressed this.
